Original art. Little Nemo In Slumberland. McCay's seminal title has inspired many artists since its inception in 1905. Simply put, Little Nemo revolutionized the comic strip. At 38, McCay was at the very peak of his talent and the New York Herald had the most talented and creative color printing staff in the business. Together they crafted a weekly fantasy that week by week revealed Slumberland to be quite magical. Nemo was published in the New York Herald until July 23, 1911. Offered here is an example dated 12/30/1906, New Year's Eve and features Nemo, the Princess Father Time and "Old 1906" welcoming in the new year. Beautiful art, fanciful concept, pen and ink on paper, art measures a large 29" x 22", two pieces, art is in overall Very Good condition.
